MCP server for MantisBT REST API – read and manage bug tracker issues

Overview

MantisBT MCP Server connects your Mantis/MantisBT bug tracker to Claude Code and other MCP-compatible AI clients via the Model Context Protocol. Instead of switching between your editor and the browser, you can read, create, and update issues, notes, attachments, tags, and relationships directly from your AI assistant.

Core capabilities:

Full issue lifecycle: create, read, update, delete issues; add and remove notes, attachments, tags, and relationships
Project metadata: list projects, versions, categories, and members
Saved filters, user profiles, and enum lookups (severity, status, priority, …)
Optional semantic search: find issues by meaning, not just keywords — runs fully offline using a local embedding model (~80 MB, downloaded once)

Transport: stdio (default) and HTTP (Streamable HTTP) for remote/Docker setups, with optional Bearer token authentication.

Setup: zero install via npx @dpesch/mantisbt-mcp-server — just add your MANTIS_BASE_URL and MANTIS_API_KEY.

Requires MantisBT 2.23+ with REST API enabled.
