Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js (version 22 or higher)
• npm
• OpenAI API key

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/manekinekko/openai-mcp-example.git
   cd openai-mcp-example
   

2. Install the dependencies:

   npm install
   

Configuration

1. Create a .env file in the root directory and add your OpenAI API key:

   OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_api_key
   

Usage

1. Run the MCP server:

   npm run start:server
   

2. Run the MCP client:

   npm run start:client
